Operational and Battery Check

Measure Battery Voltage

Operational and Battery Check

1. Connect for 3 sec. with the ULYSER Tester, alternatively with a wire jumper. 2. Measure within 60 sec.

Service Operation Mode

Connect both water switch pins for approximately 3 seconds using the Ulyser tester. If you do not have a Ulyser tester, connect both water switch pins with a wire jumper. This will set the underwater locating device into service operation mode.

The Beacon will remain in service operation mode for 60 seconds. During this time, the battery voltage is supplied to the water switch pins and the Beacon emits a pulsing acoustic signal. Please note that for ULB the acoustic signal may be outside the audible range for humans. You have 60 seconds to measure the battery voltage and receive the acoustic signal. After this time, the device will automatically return to standby mode.

For further information, please refer to the relevant CMM and consult the ULYSER Aviation CMM for detailed instructions.

Battery Check

Each Beacon has a Battery Replacement Information Sticker (BRIS) that indicates the date of the latest possible battery replacement. It is recommended to perform a cleaning and functional test 3 years before the date specified on the BRIS. This test involves measuring the battery voltage.

Supporting the CMM, you can see how to perform this test in the videos below.
